The City’s Solid Waste Sewage department has awarded Turboseal the contract to rehabilitate sections of the City’s main sewer network that runs through greenbelts in Constantia.
The aim of the project is to rehabilitate parts of the network that have been identified as prone to frequent blockages or in danger of partial collapse. Ingress of roots is a particularly huge cause of blockages.
The work that is to be undertaken uses “trenchless technology” which as the name implies involves the barest minimum of excavation. In essence a liner is pulled through the existing pipe.
Work commenced on 11 April. The City’s Project Manager is Andrew Taylor who provided the attached leaflet and maps.
